The NRM returning officer NRM in Katakwi district, Charles Oduk declared the results on Sunday night.

The resolution to carry out the party primaries in the constituency was reached at in a meeting held by the party electoral commission chaired by Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda on Friday.

Oleny who is the district NRM chairperson said he was not nominated to contest in the primaries.

"Yes we did agree in the Friday meeting that they include me also in the race though I did not pick the nomination forms, but since it was a hatched up plan, my supporters advised me not to go ahead to participate in the primaries," Oleny said on Monday.

Ongorok said there was a lot of intimidation, bribery, multiple voting and lack of registers in some polling stations.
