Kabaka names new ministers

Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II has appointed four new ministers and two Lukiiko members, making a cabinet of 31 ministers. The new appointments include Mr Noah Kiyimba (State for youth), Mr Nsamba Kumama (State for cooperatives), Mr Denis Walusimbi (State for culture) and Mr Damulira Muguluma (State minister for Health).
The Kabaka also appointed Mr Richard Kabanda as the youth representative and Mr Feffeka Sserubogo as the Bugerere County representative to the Lukiiko.
“We welcome all those who have joined us to serve as we open the 20th Lukiiko,” the Kabaka said during the official opening of the 20th Lukiiko yesterday.
Call for unity
Kabaka Mutebi also called on the leaders to unite and fight Buganda’s key challenges, especially those affecting the common people.
He said several challenges, including the poor education system, poor healthcare, poverty and poor social utilities, have remained unaddressed, creating a need for collective effort.
“As the kingdom, we have struggled to change this but the journey is still long. What encourages us is the fact that at least leaders at different levels have started working together, uniting and talking with one voice,” the Kabaka said, adding that it is upon all leaders to improve people’s social welfare.hare This Story
