Investigations into the alleged sh316.8m fraud
purportedly committed by embattled principal accountant in the Prime
Minister's office Godfrey Kazinda is incomplete, court has been
informed.
State attorney Robert Mackay on Monday informed principal magistrate
grade one Emmanuel Baguma of the Anti-Corruption Court, that the Police
probe was yet to be completed.
He asked for more time to enable the Director of Public Prosecutions
compile enough evidence against Kazinda and his three co-accused.
They are alleged to have embezzled funds for procurement of fuel and
lubricants for motor vehicles meant to deliver relief and food from the
central relief stores to disaster victims in various districts.
The case was adjourned to September 25, and the bail of the accused was extended till then.
